Life emerges from the interface of systems. It grows in the cracks, around intersections and transition zones, within river valleys and along coast lines.
My artwork metaphorically explores that interface between systems or structures. In “Fabric” for example, the origami process demonstrates one type of structure with geometry and repetition, while the wrinkled and creased surfaces of the piece show evidence of another system based on cause and effect.
The interaction of systems is the fabric of our existence. It is what allows organisms, objects, and ideas to evolve.
